Join us in Historic Gainesville on April 16th, 2026, for our 4th annual Art Walk!
Join us in Historic Gainesville on April 16, 2026, for the 4th Annual Art Walk—hosted by The Arts Council in collaboration with Downtown Gainesville!
What began as an Arts Council initiative has grown into a vibrant, community-wide celebration of Gainesville’s creative spirit. Experience the rich arts culture of our city as you explore local galleries, meet talented artists, and discover pop-up exhibitions throughout downtown storefronts.
In partnership with Downtown Gainesville, this FREE event invites you to support regional artists and local businesses by purchasing original artwork, dining at exceptional restaurants, and shopping at one-of-a-kind boutiques.
Thursday evening will feature open house-style meet-and-greets with featured artists, refreshments, live music, and special offerings at participating businesses across the historic districts. The Gainesville Trolley will make it easy to explore, with convenient stops in Downtown, Green Street, and the Brenau District.
All Parking Decks are FREE in Gainesville!
Main Street Parking Deck, 301 Main St.
Hall County Parking Facility, 225 Green St.
North Parking Deck, 130 Main St.
Trolley Run Times: 3pm – 8pm
Two Gainesville Trolleys will make rotations from 3-8pm for the event. The event ends at 8pm, and the last ’rounds’ will end at 8:30pm, so be sure to be back on one of the vehicles by then to ensure a ride back to your starting point.
How to Make the Most of your Art Walk Experience:
Where to Park and get started:
We recommend parking in the Main Street Parking Deck at 301 Main Street SW, right near stop #1 at Hunt Tower. Pick up an Art Walk Guide here and begin your tour around the Square, then hop on the Trolley to the final few locations!
Does order matter?
No, but we’ve strategically ordered them for a great flow. Walk the first 17 stops Downtown, then hop on the Gainesville Trolley to the last few stops a littler further out from the Square! If you decide to start somewhere in the middle, just follow the numbers in a circular pattern for the quickest journey to all the stops. (Once you get to #23, circle back to #1.)
What should I look for?
While some set ups might be outside, please note that many of the experiences are INSIDE buildings! This experience was crafted to get people inside places they don’t normally go!
Each Stop will have a yard sign with the # on it this year, to help you locate where to go. Additional Trolley Signs will be noted for trolley pick up locations.
Check out nearby retail and restaurants as you walk around downtown and see what’s new!
How do I participate in the Art Supplies Drive?
We’re hosting an art supplies drive to give individuals access to their creativity. We’re taking donations during Art Walk and supplies will be available to anyone throughout the summer at the Smithgall Arts Center. Learn more HERE!
